Bread for August 16

Last week I wrote that I hired a designer with planning credentials to represent me in my struggles against the County Planning Department. Well, I don't know what kind of ninja superpowers she has, but she was able to get them to approve my permit in under 48 hours. She says all she did is call them and ask them what the problem was. But I did that too, many times (actually I did it in person because I never had any luck reaching them over the phone), and over the course of weeks and months it had no evident effect. Anyway, the building permit is now secured and we are on to the next permit, from the Environmental people. I submitted it today.

This week we will have rosemary polenta, sprouted grain, Country French, semolina, and maybe a rye. I'll have croissants, pains au chocolat, cookies, maybe some gluten-free shortbread cookies, probably some blackberry tartlets, and I think Gracie is making her prize-winning caramel buttercream cupcakes.

See you on Main Street from 5-7!

  1. Congratulations! You just had to pay someone to do the asking, you know, some "lubrication" always makes things go smoother.
